Mike Metheny

Mike is currently the Director of Flight Software at Reliable Robotics, a Mountain View, CA based company bringing FAA-certifiable autonomy to commercial and defense aviation. At Reliable, Mike leads the teams developing flight software, FPGA design, and the simulation and test infrastructure needed for integrated testing and verification.
Prior to Reliable, Mike was a principal software engineer at Collins Aerospace. As part of the Controls Technology division, he served as a lead engineer developing flight software for both single string and triplex redundant architectures. Mike has experience driving this development from conceptual design all the way through to customer delivery on a diverse set of platforms, from small military drones to optionally piloted helicopters. In addition to flight software, Mike has developed software for embedded navigation products, and software for high fidelity flight simulators for pilot training for commercial and military programs.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
