ResearchThe Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at
Virginia Tech has 19 faculty working in aero/hydrodynamics,
structural mechanics, dynamics and control, and
multidisciplinary design optimization. All faculty are actively
engaged in our broad research program, which has annual
expenditures of $2.5 million. The Department has extensive
facilities including world class wind-tunnels, water tunnels,
structural test equipment, computer systems and a full-scale,
full-motion flight simulator.
