Abstract: Energy is the driver of our life!

The economical development of a country  and the quality of our life is directly related to the availability of reliable, clean and affordable energy sources.

We will analyze the electrical power demand scenario and evolution, the role of the renewable energy and the electrical sector trends, to be considered by a major electrical utility to develop a strategic plan.

Therefore we will explore the renewable energy market, the diversified regulatory framework and the business model that has allowed Enel Green Power Inc. to be the number one operator in renewable energy, in the world.

We will close by walking around the strategy and the pillars adopted by Enel Green Power Inc. to build renewable power plants in all the world.

 

Bio: A LIFE DEDICATED TO RENEWABLE ENERGY!

Alessandro Lazzarotto studied Mechanical Engineering at Pisa University  where he achieved, in 1991, a MSc degree  with top marks.

During the studies he has been awarded with major scholarships by Solvay and Dow Chemical.

After one year of experience in GE Nuovo Pignone, in the research and development of new axial and centrifugal compressors, in projects of an international character, he joined Enel Green Power (EGP).

From 2008 to 2014 he was in charge of the Geothermal Drilling Department of Enel Green Power, managing the execution of many exploration and exploitation geothermal drilling projects in Italy, Turkey, Chile and United States.

He contributed to spread the knowledge of the geothermal energy features and use, speaking on many occasions at conferences and public events, and through publications.

In 2014 he moved to United States to lead the North and Latin America Plant Construction Unit of EGP.

From 2014 to 2016 he managed the construction of 4GW of renewable power plants, in North America, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay, in all the main renewable technologies (Wind, Solar PV, Hydro, Geo).

From 2016 to now he was appointed Project Leader and Engineering & Construction Vice President of Enel Green Power North America, Inc.

In this role he executed 1.5GW of renewable power plants in North America, with a budget of about $1.5billion, managing up to 115 internal resources, coming from 6 countries, and up to 4,000 external resources of the contractors.
