Dr. Craig Morris is the Chief Scientist and Co-founder of LaminarEdge Aerospace LLC, an R&D and engineering services company in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He began his aerospace career as an Aircraft Maintainer in the United State Air Force and continued on to earn his B.S in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama Huntsville, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.  His graduate research focused on the computational multidisciplinary design optimization of supersonic aircraft leveraging novel control techniques.  Upon graduation, Dr. Morris began work at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) as a Test Analyst in the transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic wind tunnels where he developed expertise in a wide variety of test types and optical diagnostic methods. In 2016, Dr. Morris became the Lead Analyst for the wind tunnel group, and by 2018 he was appointed as the Director of Test Analysis. In this capacity, he led a team of more than 50 scientists and engineers supporting dozens of ground test sites across the complex, including at AEDC’s geographically separated units. The group led by Dr. Morris supported the execution of more than $35M per year in ground testing for many of the Nation’s top priority programs.

In his current role, Dr. Morris continues to provide T&E expertise to the Air Force and Space Force acquisition communities as a Technical Advisor to AEDC.  He is also a Visiting Researcher at the United States Air Force Academy, conducting basic and applied research on behalf of the DoD and other government and commercial partners.  Dr. Morris was named a Technical Fellow by Axient LLC in 2023, and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2025.
