Alan Titcomb has over 30 years experience at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Virginia
in the design and construction of new products, both military and commercial. Currently, he holds
the position of Engineering Manager in charge of the Naval Architecture and Weight Engineering
Department which is responsible for all ships designed or built at the yard including nuclear aircraft
carriers and nuclear submarines. Specific areas of responsibility waterfront naval architecture, CVN
and SSN naval architecture and weight engineering, research and development for surface ships and
submarines, new concept development, and CVN configuration control and contract modifications His
past experience includes Research and Development, commercial design and construction, concept
design development, standards development, and the integration of new technologies into a shipboard
environment.
