Rob Roedts

Rob is responsible for directing the Columbia Helicopters, Inc. (CHI) Engineering and Production team, which is engaged in efforts associated with maintaining the FAA Type and Production Certificates and continued airworthiness for the Model 107-II, 234, and CH-47D helicopters. Additionally, he directs the conceptualization and implementation of various new aircraft modifications, and supports the supply chain for both helicopter types by creating/maintaining/updating design data and manufacturing process control/oversight. Rob also serves as the engineering focal point and FAA Flight Analyst Designated Engineering Representative (DER) for all items concerning flight test and flying qualities of the Model 107-II, 234, and CH-47D helicopters. He is also a certified helicopter and sailplane pilot.

Prior to CHI, Rob designed, installed, and certified EMS interiors for airplanes and helicopters at LifePort, Inc. He joined Columbia Helicopters in 2010 and led the Mechanical Engineering group prior to being promoted to Director of Engineering in 2014. His role expanded to Director of Engineering and Production in 2017 including direction of CHI’s Manufacturing Control and Quality teams. In these positions, Rob and his teams have supported numerous projects including the upgrade of the Model 107-II and 234 for Part 135 operations, an effort to increase the operating limitations and performance of the Model 107-II, and the FAA type certification of the CH-47D.
