Maitreyee Sharma Priyadarshini earns Undergraduate Research Advisor Award
Assistant Professor Maitreyee Sharma Priyadarshini is the 2026 recipient of the College of Engineering Undergraduate Research Advisor Award from the Student Engineers' Council (SEC). This award is given annually to an engineering faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in advising and incorporating undergraduate students into his/her research endeavors within the College of Engineering.
Priyadarshini’s research expertise lies in machine learning, hypersonics, and computational materials discovery. In addition to working on cutting edge research, she is recognized for having a profound impact on her students, both academically and professionally.
The student nominators praised Pryadarshini for taking the time to help students understand advanced concepts, and her dedication and passion in making her lab a true learning space. Her students recognized that she fosters an environment where they feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow. In addition to advancing her field through innovative research, she is shaping the next generation of engineers.
