AOE Advising - Transfer Credit Request
To all Engineering Students
Are you interested in taking a class at another university and having
the credit transfer back to Virginia Tech? If so, please keep in mind
that the transfer course(s) must be approved in advance by the Office of
the Associate Dean of Engineering/Academic Affairs, 212 Hancock Hall.
Please read the following information about finding a school/transfer
course and submitting the Transfer Credit Request form.
DEADLINES
You may submit the Transfer Credit Request form at any time during the semester.
The deadline for requesting approval of courses for summer is May 1; June 1 for
fall courses; Dec. 1 for spring courses. Allow at least 2 weeks for the review
and approval process. If you plan to study abroad, allow 3-4 weeks for the
international syllabi to be evaluated for approval.
EQUIVALENCY DATABASE
All courses must be pre-approved by our office even if the course(s) may show
in the Virginia Tech Registrar's equivalency database. This includes Virginia
Community College courses. Do not assume that the course(s) is approved for
transfer credit toward your engineering degree just because it shows in the
equivalency database.
