PLEASE REFER TO THE HOKIE SPA UNDER TIMETABLE OF CLASSES "IMPORTANT DATES AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION." SEE THE FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE AT WWW.REGISTRAR@VT.EDU, "GENERAL INFORMATION". ALSO, REFER TO THE "UNDERGRADUATE CATALOG" FOR INFORMATION.
TRANSFER CREDIT
You may take courses at other accredited institutions and transfer the credit back to Virginia Tech.
A grade of C or better must be earned in the course to receive transfer credit. Grades do not transfer.
Students who expect to transfer credit from either a Virginia Community College or another college or
university must have the course or courses pre approved by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for
Engineering's Office, 212 Hancock Hall. Student must obtain the "Transfer Credit Request" form in
212 Hancock Hall. Also, look at the Transfer Credit Request
information in the AOE Advising page.
To view possible transfer coures, go to www.registrar.vt.edu
and choose "Transfer Equivalency Database." From this page you can choose possible states and
schools where you may wish to take transferrable courses. You must STILL complete the
"Transfer Credit Request" form, even if the class you wish to take is listed on the equivalency database.
If you wish to take a transferrable course which is not listed on the database, you must provide a course description from that school's catalog or website to the "Request for Transfer Credit" form. If additional information about the course is necessary in order to evaluate it for transfer credit, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs office will get in touch with the student.
Allow two weeks for processing of the transfer credit request and then return and pick up a copy of the form with the approval or disapproval.
Students on academic suspension may not transfer credit back to Virginia Tech, however, students on Academic Probation may transfer credit back to Virginia Tech after obtaining prior approval by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
