AOE Advising - Resignation

RESIGNATION
Students may resign without grade penalty by completing an official Virginia Tech resignation form on or before the last day to resign without grade penalty. The transcript will show that the student was enrolled for the term and resigned on a specific date.
A student who resigns after the last day to resign without grade penalty deadline and does not have written authorization for resignation without grade penalty from his or her Associate Dean of Academic Affairs will receive automatic F grades in all courses in which he or she is enrolled. The transcript will carry the notation, "Suspended by committee action," and the hours of F will be included in the cumulative GPA calculation and in major GPA calculation. In the case of authorized resignations after the deadline, grades will not be assigned; the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Engineering will determine the student's academic status for reenrollment based on the previous record. Resignation forms are available in 212 Hancock Hall.
