AOE Advising -Pass/Fail

PASS/FAIL

Students with 30 credits passed at Virginia Tech with a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA may take certain courses pass/fail. No more than two courses per term and no more than a total of ten percent of the hours taken at Virginia Tech may be taken pass/fail , excluding physical education activity courses and required courses offered as a pass/fail basis only. A grade of "P" is granted for earning a "D" or better in the course. University Core requirements may not be taken pass/fail, and most engineering departments do not allow students to take any required or technical elective courses on a pass/fail basis.
