AOE Advising - Obsolete Credit Rule
PLEASE REFER TO THE HOKIE SPA UNDER TIMETABLE OF CLASSES "IMPORTANT DATES AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION." SEE THE FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE AT WWW.REGISTRAR@VT.EDU, "GENERAL INFORMATION". ALSO, REFER TO THE "UNDERGRADUATE CATALOG" FOR INFORMATION.
OBSOLETE CREDIT RULE
Students who are absent from the University for at least five years may petition to use the Obsolete Credit Rule, with the permission of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The Obsolete Credit Rule allows a student to use any course with a grade of C or better, which counts toward graduation requirements, as transfer credit. Therefore, when the Obsolete Credit Rule is applied, grades for the allowable courses will not be factored into the student's GPA, but all courses will remain part of the student's permanent record. The GPA will revert to 0 (zero); all academic probations and suspensions will remain on the record. Please contact the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Engineering's Office, 212 Hancock Hall, for additional information.
