MEDICAL EXCUSES
If you miss a test(s) and/or other assigned work (other than the final examination) due to illness, Schiffert Health Center medical staff can verify to your instructor that you have been given medical treatment. It is impossible to retroactively correct for problems caused by untreated and/or unreported illness.
Do not allow any persistent medical problem to go untreated. See Schiffert Health Center for any and all medical problems. This is a service that you have paid for and should use. If illness occurs while you are at home on a weekend or during break, you should notify Schiffert Health Center or the Dean of Students Office, so that your professors can be notified. In the event of illness, Schiffert Health Center can recommend academic relief, in the form of incomplete grades, course reduction, or withdrawal from school without grade penalty. The final decision for granting such relief lies with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for Engineering, who will rely heavily on advice from the Director of Schiffert Health Center.
