ALSO, REFER TO THE "UNDERGRADUATE CATALOG" FOR INFORMATION.ADVANCED STANDING Students are awarded advanced standing (not advanced placement) in such courses as Freshman English. Students who are awarded (officially placed in 1106 or H1204 by the Virginia Tech English Department) advanced standing in English 1106 or H1204 and who earn a C or better in the first semester in which they are enrolled in 1106 or H1204 will be given credit (no grade) for English 1105. In the College of Engineering, a grade of less than C , the first time the student takes English 1106 or H 1204, will result in the requirement to take English 1105. This document does not constitute a contract, expressed or implied, between the College of Engineering and any student. The University and College reserves the right to change any of the information in this document when deemed appropriate.
