PERPENDICULAR BLADE VORTEX INTERACTION

Click here for information on the figure.

This page contains references to papers and data from an experimental study of the perpendicular interaction of a tip vortex with a blade. The overall objectives of the study were to reveal the turbulent flow structure generated by the interaction and to use this information to improve noise prediction methods for helicopter rotor flows. Experiments were conducted between 1990 and 1997 at the Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering, Virginia Tech under the sponsorship of NASA Langley through grants NAG 1-1119 and 1-1539.
