The main goal of the CAP LAb in this field is to develop a virtual environment for data interpretation
purposes. Towards that end we have been using the CAVE Virtual Environment Facility at Virginia Tech and we have developed
our own 3D visualization software, CapVTE.
CapVTE
CapVTE was designed to visualize the geometry, the grid data and particles of CFD or particle codes.
For easy interpretation of complex data, CapVTE allows the user to be immersed into the data set using
virtual reality technology. The software also allows multiple users in the same virtual environment through
a network. This new feature of the software gives the possibility of instant sharing of information
about a same set of data. The new version 1.2 of the network allows multiple clients to connect to a server
and visualize the data as seen by any other client, giving the control over the client's window to another one.
It is usefull for scientist or engineers who need to communicate their results and show in real time the
data to interested parties that can be located anywhere in the world.

This animation was rendered using CapVTE and played in the Virginia Tech CAVE. It represents the
plume expansion behind the NASA Deeps Space 1 spacecraft as simulated.
CapVTE current version: 1.7
version 1.7 has been released
new features:
-capVTE Network version 1.2
-Collaborative Visualization
-Documentation
-Multiple data capability
-Stereo Rendering
