Facilities available at CAP Lab

Computational Facilities

Most of the work performed in the laboratory is computational, therefore the laboratory needs a large computational power and availability. We use mainly the computers available at the graduate computational lab which is composed of PC's a SUN Fire server with 2 UltraSparc III processors and 6Gb of memory, 2 SUN Blade 100 and 2 SUN Blade 1000 with all 1Gb of memory. Finally we have been recently equiped with a thin dual Opteron computational server with 3Gb of memory. The total disk storage of the department is now 2.7Tb.

We have also access to various clusters and a supercomputer on campus such as the ICAM's Kudzu 16 dual nodes, Anantham 128 dual nodes and finally Virginia Tech's System X.
