The Virginia Tech SNAME/ASNE chapter is a student run organization that explores practical and real-world applications in the field of Ocean Engineering. Each year we host speakers from various Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture firms that offer perspectives on current and future jobs.
The chapter also actively participates in the SNAME annual meetings and ASNE day. Attendees meet professionals working in the Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering fields and also interact with Naval Architecture students from across the nation. Along with the professional meetings we also take many trips that often include shipyards and even small boat companies.
Membership in the SNAME Virginia Tech student chapter provides an excellent opportunity for Ocean Engineering students to interact with each other, learn about the marine industry, and explore Ocean Engineering fields.
