Giving to AOEAlthough the commonwealth does provide funding to Virginia
Tech, that funding represents only 39% of the university's
yearly budget. Private giving is essential in helping to
provide student scholarships, to support and attract qualified
faculty, and to fund a wide range of important programs and
initiatives. In short, private gifts help ensure that Virginia
Tech students receive a quality education and help keep the
university competitive with other top institutions. Your
support is needed now more than ever. State budget shortfalls
have impacted all of VT's colleges, as well as Aerospace and
Ocean Engineering.
Gifts can be designated to any area of the university.
Donors have the choice of directing their support to any of
Virginia Tech's eight colleges, a department, a program, or any
special initiative. Please designate all or part of your gift
to Aerospace and Ocean Engineering. You can securely make a
pledge, make a payment on an existing pledge, make a gift
using your credit card, or request information on donating
securities, making a planned gift or using electronic funds
transfer from your checking account, via the
online pledging form
In recent years, the generosity of donors has made it
possible for many students to participate in national and
international competitions; design, fabricate and test unique
vehicles as well as conduct experiments that would not have
been possible otherwise.
If you are affiliated with a company that matches
contributions to higher education, your gift to Virginia Tech
may be matched, doubled, or -- in some instances -- more than
doubled. Since many employers consider matching gifts an
employee benefit, your human resource department or personnel
office is your best source for more information about your
company's matching gift policies and procedures. For more
information about how matching gifts can benefit Virginia Tech,
