AOE Computing - Labs
Students in Aerospace and Ocean Engineering have access to a wide variety of computer facilities.
In addition to those resources provided by Virginia Tech and the College of Engineering, the
Department maintains two computer labs: the
Senior Design Computer Lab and the
Graduate Computer Lab. This page
is dedicated to provide information on the use of these facilities.
AOE Senior Design Computer Lab
Use of the Design Lab is only allowed to AOE Seniors enrolled in the Senior Design course
(AOE 4056 and 4066). Students must fill out an
"Acceptable Use Policy Form"
(also available at 313 and 331A Randolph Hall) in order to obtain an account.
The Design Lab is home to 17 personal computers, Windows OS, with the following specialized software:

| Matlab 6.5 |
Software installation of any kind by students is not permitted.
If students have other software requirements
(related to their Senior Design course) a request may be filed via the
AOE Trouble Ticket System.
AOE Graduate Computer Lab
Use of the Graduate Lab is intended for AOE graduate students. Students must fill out an
"Acceptable Use Policy Form"
(also available at 313 and 331A Randolph Hall) in order to obtain an account.
The Graduate Lab is home to 9 personal computers, Windows OS, with the following specialized software:
