Chris Hall earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University, M.S. in Systems Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. at Cornell University. He worked as a satellite systems engineer in the "Blue Cube" at Onizuka Air Force Base in Sunnyvale, California, and taught for 5+ years at the Air Force Institute of Technology. He joined the Aerospace and Ocean Engineering Department at Virginia Tech in 1997, where he is leading a team of students to build the very first "HokieSat" for a 2003 shuttle launch. He is a member of the American Astronautical Society, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and the American Society for Engineering Education. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a past Associate Editor of the Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics.
